Decision-making is a daily fact of life. Perhaps one of the most pivotal choices we can make is not just to choose to believe in Jesus Christ but whether we will continually, consistently choose to make Him a greater part of our day-to-day lives. This blog is intended to provide a safe, friendly and open forum for discussions about Jesus Christ. We respectfully request that all contributions to this blog be made in a kind way. Feel free to question, share, explore and enjoy!
For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith.2 Nephi 27:23
Do you believe in miracles? Have you ever experienced one personally or know someone who has? Maybe I should ask, what is a miracle? You may be uncertain about miracles, but may I suggest they are real and possible and most often manifest through small and simple means. It makes sense to my simple mind that a loving God would offer miraculous aid to any who would humbly, faithfully ask for it. Why not?
How are we possibly going to select which voices we will listen to and believe? . . . . I suggest a simple solution for selecting the channel to which we attune ourselves: listen to and follow the voice of the Spirit. This is an ancient solution, even eternal, and may not be popular in a society that is always looking for something new. It requires patience in a world that demands instant gratification. This solution is quiet, peaceful, and subtle. . . . We need to learn how to ponder the things of the Spirit and to respond to its promptings—to filter out the static. . . . As we become attuned to the Spirit, we “shall hear a word behind [us], saying, This is the way, walk ye in it. (Isa. 30:21)” Hearkening to the “voice of the living God” will give us “peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come.” These are the greatest of all the gifts of God.
